Melgaço is the northernmost municipality in Portugal, located in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço, part of the Vinho Verde wine designation of origin. Protected from the Atlantic influence by a mountain range, this region offers ideal conditions for growing the Alvarinho grape variety. The significant temperature difference between hot days and cool nights during the ripening period, combined with the perfect balance of rain and sunshine, ensures the preservation of the varietal aromas and the fresh character of this unique wine.
