Ponto + Norte is more than just a wine brand; it is a celebration of tradition and modernity, fused into a timeless concept that combines quality, creativity, and authentic experiences. Our goal is to bring together the best wines from different wineries, offering a new way to enjoy and savor wine, whether at a dinner with friends or a stroll by the seaside. At the same time, our vision is rooted in a concept that connects the world of wine with fashion and design, exploring contemporary aesthetics and creating a young, irreverent image that reflects the spirit of our brand.
Currently, we are privileged to collaborate with Adega Soalheiro, located in Melgaço, the northernmost point of Portugal. Situated in the Monção and Melgaço sub-region, part of the Vinho Verde region, Soalheiro winery benefits from unique conditions: sheltered by the mountain range that protects the region from Atlantic influences, it enjoys a microclimate with a significant temperature difference between warm days and cool nights, ideal for cultivating the Alvarinho grape. The perfect combination of rain, sun, and these climatic conditions ensures the preservation of the characteristic flavors and freshness of this region.
Our partnership has given rise to ‘Aqui Começa Portugal’, an unfiltered Alvarinho Vinho Verde created in homage to Marco 1P, located in Cevide, Melgaço. This symbolic landmark, situated at the mouth of the Trancoso River, marks the beginning of Portuguese territory and stands as a testament to the historical and cultural legacy of our country. Inspired by the earliest Alvarinhos ever produced, this wine is crafted without filtration, respecting traditional techniques. The result is an authentic product with natural sediment and a bold personality.
Cevide, the northernmost point of Portugal, is our origin and inspiration. Located in the district of Viana do Castelo, in the municipality of Melgaço, in the parish of Cristóval, this small locality is characterized by its natural beauty, with the Trancoso River flowing through stunning landscapes until it joins the Minho River and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore, the region’s history of smuggling between Portugal and Spain adds a unique charm and narrative.
